Novo Nordisk India organizes Take action with 4 schools in Bangalore with almost 10,000 participation as part of World Diabetes day celebration
Novo Nordisk India did a record-breaking event touching almost 10,000 children in four prominent schools - Bishop Cotton Girls School, Vagdevi Vilas School, Oxford school & Goodwill School in Bangalore. These events were organized with lot of interactive sessions, fun and Walk. Out of these 10,000, close to 4,000 children across these four schools participated at 15:30 hrs in creating a World record as part of the Global walk for Diabetes.
As part of the initiative in India Novo Nordisk organized an awareness campaign for more than 9,500 school children, teachers and parents from four local schools in Bangalore The focus was on prevention of diabetes and lifestyle modification with special reference to diet and exercise.
This special initiative of Novo Nordisk India was with school children as part of the global initiative TakeAction! in order to create awareness about diabetes among children and young people. In India, November 14th is also celebrated as Children’s day as it is the birthday of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru the first Prime Minister of Independent India.
Novo Nordisk organized interactive sessions with four leading diabetologists and dieticians of the city at these schools and stressed the importance of healthy habits to be inculcated early in life for a healthier and happier life.
The programmes also roped in eminent sports personalities like Pankaj Adwani, world snooker champion (1993) as well as Ashwini Nachappa, an athlete of international fame, who flagged-off the events.
