World Diabetes Day in Bulgaria

In 2005 the activities celebrating World Diabetes Day in Bulgaria focused on children with diabetes, and they included a children’s drawing contest on Hans Christian Andersen fairy tales. Approximately 300 children with diabetes took part in the contest.

In 2005 the activities celebrating World Diabetes Day in Bulgaria focused on children with diabetes, and they included a children’s drawing contest on Hans Christian Andersen fairy tales. Novo Nordisk Pharma EAD thereby ccommemorated the great Danish writer’s 200 year’s birthday.

Approximately 300 children with diabetes took part in the contest. The best paintings will be included in a special edition of Andersen's fairy tales, which will be given as a gift to the each of the 3000 children with diabetes in Bulgaria.

The World Diabetes Day in Bulgaria was celebrated with an event, where special guests included the Danish Ambassador H.E. Svend Boye Madsen, leading diabetologists and representatives of the Bulgarian Diabetes Association.

The initiative was under the patronage of the Bulgarian First Lady Mrs. Zorka Parvanova.
