World Diabetes Day in Portugal
introducing children to diabetes with presentation and SchoolChallenge material.

On World Diabetes Day in Portugal, we organized meetings in five schools across the country, reaching out to 350 school children aged between 10 and 15 years. Some presentations were made by Novo Nordisk employees, whereas one presentation was conducted by a nurse.
For this event, we had developed a presentation of diabetes especially adapted for children, using the TakeAction! School Challenge material. Besides new knowledge on the disease, the children took away a pen, paper, binder, a cap with the Taurus logo and a certificate stating that they had attended the presentation.
These events were highly appreciated by the 20 teachers participating as well as by otherwise involved people.
