Diabetes Quiz Show
![]()
The Diabetes Quiz Show teaches children and young people about type 2 diabetes and the link with healthy food and exercise. The whole class can take part.
Teaching the activity
The quiz works best as the conclusion to a short or long course on diabetes, diet and exercise. (If this is not the case, the children can be given longer to answer the questions and have access to the Internet so that they have a better chance to carry out research).
The children are divided into groups of 3–4. The quiz consists of two rounds. In the first round each group is given a sheet of questions.
The groups have 15 minutes to write down their answers. The teacher then runs through the answers in class and 1–3 points are awarded for each correct answer.
In the second round there is just one question. A correct answer scores 10 points, while an incorrect answer scores –10 points.
The activity lasts 1 hour.
