You can put health on the school timetable!

The School Challenge can be used by schoolteachers, after-school teachers and parents. The activities are easy to implement. Just choose an activity, read the step-by-step instructions and print out the material – then you’re ready to put health on the school timetable.

If you do not already work with children on a daily basis, you can enrol as a guest teacher at a local school, maybe even at your own child’s school.

How to become a guest teacher

  1. Contact a local school and ask whether they are interested in the School Challenge.
  2. Agree with the class teacher on the activities that you would like to carry out on the day.
Plan the activity: make sure that you have all the necessary materials (print out the School Challenge materials, buy apparatus, or borrow balls, skittles etc from the school).
  3. Consider inviting parents and siblings along on the day.
  4. Possibly contact the local press on the day.
  5. Important: tell the children why it is important to stay active and eat healthily – background health information on a child’s level.
  6. Remember: send feedback  from the day to School Challenge.

Have fun – we look forward to hearing how it went!
